Barcelona and Spain legend Xavi has claimed that he would be open to managing Tottenham Hotspur in the future after beginning his managerial career earlier this year – and Spurs fans are excited at such a prospect on Twitter.
Xavi, 39, finally retired from professional football at the end of last season. He spent the last four years of his career in the middle east, turning out for Qatar Stars League side Al-Sadd – where he scored 25 goals in 115 appearances.
Indeed, the 2010 World Cup winner is now managing Al-Sadd, winning six of his eight league and cup appearances this season. Xavi has masterminded an attacking style that has seen his side net 13 goals in three league games.

Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this week, the former midfield maestro stated that he is looking to return to Europe to manage in the future – with Barcelona his dream job. Though he is willing to manage in the Premier League, naming Tottenham.
“I I had to choose, I would choose a big team, [Manchester] City or United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham,” Xavi said.
Mauricio Pochettino continues to be adored by Tottenham fans, but he has started the 2019-20 campaign in disappointing form. Indeed, his side have won just two of six Premier League games, and suffering a disappointing draw against Olympiacos.
Tottenham fans reacted to the news that Xavi said he would be open to managing Tottenham in the future as he sharpens his tools at Al-Sadd, with many excited at the potential of the Spanish legend standing in the dugout.
