Tottenham fans react as Wolves confirm Nuno Espirito Santo is leaving this summer

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that their manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be leaving at the end of the season – and some Tottenham fans on Twitter have responded by claiming they hope they don’t appoint him.

Spurs are still yet to appoint their successor to Jose Mourinho, with Ryan Mason stepping in as interim boss until the end of the campaign.

Nuno was linked (Express) with the Spurs job back in April, but he’s one of numerous candidates mentioned in the papers since Mourinho was sacked.

Spurs’ Premier League rivals Wolves announced on Friday that they’ve reached a mutual agreement with their head coach Nuno for him to leave after the final game of the league season, which for them is at home to Manchester United on Sunday.

The 47-year-old has overseen a massive change at Molineux during his four years in charge as manager, as they’ve gone from a Championship side to a settled Premier League club.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media don’t believe though that Nuno would be a good appointment for them.

Despite his achievements at Wolves, there is a concern that is more defensive and pragmatic style wouldn’t match the attacking football Spurs fans are crying out for.

He’s shown he’s a great man-manager, so it’ll be intriguing to see where he ends up.
