Championship club Charlton Athletic are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott on loan before Thursday’s deadline – but Spurs fans are desperate to see their side keep him.
Parrott, 17, is quickly becoming recognised as one of the best strikers in European football at his age. Indeed, he has already scored four goals in four appearances for Ireland’s Under-19 side.
The striker has been a regular in the Tottenham side during pre-season, with Mauricio Pochettino willing to throw the youngster in at the deep end against some of Europe’s best sides and players.
Parrott has played against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus this summer. He even hit the post against Zinedine Zidane’s side, as Spurs beat the Galacticos 1-0 in the Audi Cup semi-final.

The Independent claim Charlton are keen to bring Parrott to the Valley on loan, a move that could be hugely beneficial in Parrott’s career. But the Irishman may find himself in the first team already.
That is because Spurs are lacking in options up front after Fernando Llorente was released and Vincent Janssen joined Mexican side Monterrey. Parrott could be the new back-up to Kane.
Spurs fans reacted to the reported news that Charlton want to sign Parrott on loan before the deadline, and the majority are desperate to see the Irish striker stay.
