Tottenham youngster Troy Parrott is reportedly in line for a new deal – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by claiming he now needs some regular minutes in the first-team.
According to the Evening Standard, Spurs are “hopeful” that the centre-forward will commit his future by penning a long-term contract in February.
It is explained that there are ongoing talks and a deal could be completed when he turns 18 on 4 February.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports have added that the 17-year-old is “expected” to sign the fresh deal.
Parrott has come through the Spurs academy in the past couple of years and is someone being tipped for a big first-team future.
The striker has made two first-team appearances to date, which have come this season in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
But he was an unused substitute against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup third round at the weekend, which was odd considering first-choice striker Harry Kane is currently out injured.
Parrott is the most natural replacement in the Spurs ranks to replace Kane, but he’s yet to really got a full look-in under current boss Jose Mourinho.
