Tottenham fans react as Thomas Partey breaks Twitter silence

Fresh from starring in the last 16 of the Champions League as Atletico Madrid produced a stunning performance to knock Liverpool out of the competition, Thomas Partey has broken his Twitter silence – and Tottenham fans have reacted.

Partey, 26, is quickly becoming recognised as one of the best defensive midfielders in European football, as the Ghana international continues to shine under the guidance of expert tactician Diego Simeone.

His performances in the two-legged 4-2 aggregate win over Liverpool left a lot of Premier League supporters purring. It also comes as reports claim he could be on his way to England in the near future.

The Telegraph claim that Arsenal are desperate to sign Partey, who has a £45 million release clause. Coming through the Atletico academy, the Ghana captain has clocked up 174 senior outings – after loans with Almeria and Mallorca.

However, Atletico are desperate to keep Partey, and are looking to offer the midfielder a new deal – not only to offer Partey improved terms, but also to remove the release clause in a bid to stave off interest from the north London club.

Arsenal’s bitter rivals Tottenham are also after a midfielder and although they have not been linked with Partey, they responded to the midfielder’s Tweet – urging him to ignore The Gunners and move to Spurs.
