Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has been ruled out of this weekend’s match against Newcastle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a minor thigh injury.
The club’s official Twitter account posted the injury update ahead of the match and the absence of the summer signing was the headline news.
Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon are still out injured but it was the fact that Ndombele will miss the game that had most fans panicking online.
Spurs fans have become accustomed to their players being absent with injury – and therefore very frustrated – and some of them feel that Ndombele is already in the same routine.
They’ve seen enough of their players become injured in training and have become so annoyed by the way they feel it keeps happening.
Ndombele’s arrival signaled something of a new dawn for the club, but he appears to have been weighed down with a familiar issue.
That said, if it’s just a minor injury, there’s no real need to risk him against Newcastle, with the north London derby on the horizon.
