Son Heung-min captained his South Korea side to a 1-0 win over the UAE on Thursday – and Tottenham fans have applauded him on Twitter.

Son, 29, has been in fine form this season once again. His strike rate in front of goal has kept Tottenham going – while Harry Kane continues to struggle.

Following the appointment of Antonio Conte, many Spurs players have instantly jetted off after his first two games – Son, to South Korea.

South Korea took a big step towards 2022 World Cup qualification with a crucial 1-0 win – Wolves ace Hwang Hee-chan scoring the only goal.

But Son came within inches of making it two, going on a solo run before striking an effort left-footed – that only cannoned back off the post.

What are Tottenham fans saying as Son shines for his country, again?

Son has been on fire for his country this season, scoring two goals in four appearances. The winger has now clocked up a huge 97 caps.

Clearly, he was in fine fettle again – coming within an inch of scoring his seventh goal of the season for club and country.

But in the end, he still played a pivotal part in South Korea winning 1-0 and ultimately, taking a step closer to qualification from Group A.

Tottenham fans responded on Twitter to his run and shot – with many applauding the fan favourite for his effort at goal.
