Tottenham youngster Ryan Sessegnon is being linked with a loan move this summer – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have responded by claiming it would be a mistake to let him go.
The Daily Mail reports that the 20-year-old is ‘almost certain’ to be loaned out in this transfer window if Spurs complete a deal for Real Madrid’s 23-year-old Sergio Reguilon.
It is understood that Jose Mourinho’s side are currently in advanced talks for left-back Reguilon and clubs are waiting in the wings to take Sessegnon on loan.
Sessegnon was a bit-part player for Spurs last season and struggled to gain minutes following the arrival of Mourinho, making just 12 appearances across all competitions.
The English left-footer is versatile as he can be used as a left-back or as a left-winger, but predominately views himself as the latter.
He will reportedly be sent out on loan if Spurs do complete a deal to sign a new left-back, which would suggest the club’s long-term plan for him is to become a recognised full-back.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media are convinced they can’t afford to lose Sessegnon, as they already have a small squad and need the options.
They have a huge amount of fixtures to complete this season and are preparing for a Europa League qualifying tie against Lokomotiv Plovdiv on Thursday.
