Tottenham fans react as report says Joachim Andersen quite likely to join Spurs from Lyon
A new report has claimed that Tottenham are closing in on a move to sign Joachim Andersen. The Lyon defender – who spent the last season on loan at Fulham – has caught the eye at Spurs. Now, a new report says Andersen is ‘almost certain’ to stay in London, and Tottenham fans have reacted.
Andersen, 25, joined Fulham on loan from Lyon last summer and ended up wearing the captain’s armband in the absence of Tom Cairney. While Fulham went down, Andersen has been excellent under Scott Parker. Many Premier League clubs have since been linked with Andersen.
Danish website BT claim that Andersen has numerous London clubs chasing him this summer. Tottenham are the main candidates, though, and are certainly leading the chase for the defender. Reports now claim that talks between Spurs and Lyon are ongoing, and a deal is close.
Andersen would be a brilliant signing for Tottenham – and fans agree
The report says Andersen is ‘almost certain’ to remain in London – with Tottenham on pole. The deal claims Andersen, who plays alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Christian Eriksen for Denmark, is likely to cost £19million. Tottenham certainly need defenders.
Eric Dier has a good game, and then a bad game. His inconsistency has been compounded by Toby Alderweireld being past his peak, while Davinson Sanchez makes a mistake every match – one that leads to a goal. Tottenham fans have reacted to the reports that Andersen could be close to Spurs.
