Tottenham fans react as pundit suggests Euro 2020 manager for Spurs
Mark Lawrenson recently claimed that he was stunned Tottenham Hotspur were not considering a move for Italy manager Roberto Mancini. The Azzurri manager has starred in his role as Italy boss, winning three of three Euro 2020 games. Tottenham fans have reacted, they would love Mancini.
Mancini, 56, has guided Italy into the knockout rounds with three wins over Switzerland, Turkey and Wales. While expected to win the group, they did so with relative ease – even resting a number of key players in the final game. Italy have equalled a record – 30 games unbeaten under Mancini.
The manager has a Premier League medal in his trophy cabinet, guiding Manchester City to the title. He also has three Serie A titles with Inter, and spells at big clubs such as Zenit, Galatasaray, Lazio and Fiorentina. Lawrenson questioned why Spurs were not taking a look at Mancini.
“The other thing about Mancini is why isn’t he being mentioned for the Tottenham job,” Lawrenson told Off The Ball. “He’s the only manager I know who’s not had a mention. Why hasn’t he been mentioned? He’s doing a fabulous job. He’s managed in the Premier League, that’s a strange one.”
