Tottenham fans react as Premier League confirm Maurizio Pochettino offered new deal

The Premier League have confirmed on their official website that Tottenham Hotspur have offered a new deal to Mauricio Pochettino’s son Maurizio – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.

The 19-year-old is set to see his current contract expire on June 30, three years after joining the club when his father was in charge. Since November 2019, Jose Mourinho has taken the reigns – while Pochettino senior is without a club.

Maurizio has been a constant part of the club’s Under-23 side this season despite his tender age, clocking up eight Premier League 2 appearances and even scoring and creating an assist during a 3-2 win over Wolves.

However, Spurs have decided against offering the Barcelona-born attacker a new deal – until now. The Premier League have published each club’s retained lists, and state that Spurs have offered Pochettino a new contract.

Pochettino certainly has his work cut out when it comes to breaking into the senior side. Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn, Ryan Sessegnon, Jack Clarke, Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and even more block his path.

But Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter and are delighted to hear that – even though it is not his Father – Pochettino junior has been offered a deal. Of course, the teenager is yet to put pen to paper.
