Newcastle United are reportedly preparing a mammoth offer to land Mauricio Pochettino as manager and replace Steve Bruce at the end of the 2019-20 campaign – and Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter.
With Newcastle reportedly close to confirming a takeover, The Toon have been linked with a whole host of managers. Pochettino is just one name, while Rafa Benitez, Luciano Spalletti, Jorge Jesus, Max Allegri and Lucien Favre are also linked.
However, Sky Sports claim Newcastle’s prospective new owners have made Pochettino their top target and are prepared to offer the Argentine an enormous £19million a season – or £365,000 a week to lure him to St. James’ Park.

The report states that Pochettino is still being paid the £8.5million-a-year salary he was on at Tottenham under Daniel Levy until he finds a new club. PSG, Real Madrid and other sides have been linked with the ex-Southampton gaffer.
Such a move would see Pochettino become the second highest-paid manager in the Premier League, with Pep Guardiola raking a whopping £20million a season. If Pochettino rejects a move to Tyneside, Newcastle will look to lure Benitez back.
Tottenham supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Newcastle are to completely dwarf the wages Levy had Pochettino on at Spurs, and many have wished the South American boss all the best.
