Tottenham fans react as Moussa Sissoko posts injury update on Instagram

Moussa Sissoko posted a video on his Instagram that confirms the French midfielder is back on the grass, as he goes a step closer to recovering from knee surgery – and Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted with delight on Twitter.

Sissoko, 30, suffered the injury in a 1-0 defeat to Southampton at the start of the year and it forced the ex-Newcastle United ace to go under the knife and correct the issue in his right knee. It was believed he would be out until at least April.

Signed for £30million (BBC) in the summer of 2016, Sissoko got off to a difficult start at Spurs. But since his move into central midfield, Sissoko has shone for Spurs – clocking up 151 appearances in all competitions, in less than four seasons.

It will come as an enormous boost to Tottenham, then, that Sissoko has potentially suggested he is eyeing an early return from the operation that took place in January – given he is already running and kicking a ball, as posted below.

Spurs are really struggling with injury problems at the moment. Harry Kane remains sidelined until at least April, with suggestions that he could miss the rest of the season. Son Heung-min has also undergone an operation on his arm.

So the news of Sissoko returning to the grass and seeming sharp after his operation will delight concerned Tottenham fans, with many reacting to his post on Twitter. One supporter joked that his return meant a “goalscorer” is “sorted”.
