Tottenham fans react as Mauricio Pochettino is linked with Zenit Saint Petersburg
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a report that has claimed Mauricio Pochettino is being lined up by Russian giants Zenit Saint Petersburg.
The former Spurs boss has been out of work since being replaced by Jose Mourinho last November, but could now be set for a return to football management.

The link comes as somewhat of a surprise given how far Pochettino took Spurs in his five-and-a-bit years at the club.
The Argentine tactician struggled to galvanise his side after the defeat to Liverpool in 2019 Champions League final, but was regularly praised before that for instilling an exciting brand of football and developing players.
Since being out of work, Pochettino has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, but United and Real still have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Zinedine Zidane at the helm, while Juve hired Andrea Pirlo to replace Maurizio Sarri.
According to Russian publication Championat, Zenit have made contact with Pochettino about replacing Sergei Semak, who is into the final year of his contract.

Should Pochettino agree to take the job, he’d be the second ex-Spurs boss to manage the giants after Andre Villas-Boas took over following his sacking by the north Londoners in December 2013.
On social media, some Spurs fans expressed their shock over the reports, with some urging the 48-year-old not to make the move:
This is so strange

All this is about is telling Real Madrid that its now or never. They’ll jump in if they think he’s going somewhere else.

Imagine. He’d be better off going to Fulham.

Dont get me wrong, he could do a really good job at Zenit, Europa League especially. I just think he would be wasted in Russia. He needs a bigger club than this.
