Matt Taylor has this afternoon departed Tottenham Hotspur to take on the position of Head Coach at League Two outfit Walsall – and supporters have been reacting on Twitter.
The ex-Premier League defender had been coaching the club’s under-18s but will now take the plunge and embark on his first managerial gig in the professional game.
Taylor has helped develop a number of players at Tottenham. The likes of Harvey White, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, Dane Scarlett, Alfie Devine and Nile John have all thrived under his wing.

Walsall finished last season in 19th place and have identified Taylor as someone who can revive their fortunes during the 2021/22 campaign.
Taylor was a superb player during his playing days, excelling with Portsmouth, Bolton and West Ham United.
Now, Tottenham will need to try and get themselves a new under-18 manager as well as a new boss to oversee the fortunes of the first team.
Following this afternoon’s news, supporters have been reacting on Twitter. Here is what they had to say as Taylor leaves to pursue a new challenge
