Luke Amos scored an excellent brace for Championship side Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon but failed to prevent his loan side losing 5-3 to Barnsley – and Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the midfielder’s goals.
Amos, 22, joined QPR on loan in the summer after a frustrating 12 months at Spurs. During the summer of 2018, Amos starred for Tottenham’s side during pre-season and was one of the best performers during the US tour.
So much so, Amos made his debut for Spurs in a 2-1 win over Newcastle United in what was the first Premier League game of 2018-19. However, just weeks later, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The England youth international recovered and has since joined QPR on loan in a bid to rekindle his previous form and look to break into the Spurs side for a second time – this time under new manager Jose Mourinho.
He will have certainly done himself no harm with Tottenham keeping a track of his progress at the second-tier side, as he scored twice though QPR did lose 5-3 to newly-promoted Barnsley. It was his first goals for QPR, in his 15th outing.
Tottenham fans reacted to the news that Amos had scored a brace on Twitter, with the majority claiming that he will go on to have a solid career in either the Premier League or the Championship. One fan, though, claimed he is better than Eric Dier.
