Tottenham fans react as links to Joachim Andersen emerge

Tottenham are in pole position to sign Lyon defender Joachim Andersen during the summer, according to The Telegraph. The centre-back was recently relegated with Fulham but is now being linked with other Premier League clubs.

Andersen is an uncompromising defender and perhaps showcases some old fashioned qualities, despite his relatively tender years. He is capable of playing out from the back but is more accustomed to the no-nonsense stuff.

Nonetheless, Spurs fancy signing him and it’s fair to say they need a centre-back. Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez are not at the required level and even Toby Alderweireld has endured some tough periods this season.

Andersen is only 24 and he has the potential to become a mainstay in the Tottenham team for years to come. Not only that but he will also improve with the more games he plays at an elite level.
