Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to cash in on right-back Kieran Trippier this summer with Premier League clubs said to be weighing up a move for the England defender – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.
The Sun have claimed that 29-year-old Trippier has been made available by Atletico, just a year after he left Tottenham to join Diego Simeone’s side. He clocked up 114 appearances for Spurs following his £3.5million move from Burnley.
A full-fledged England international, Trippier has starred in the Champions League and La Liga with Atletico this season – clocking up 26 appearances in all competitions, and helping his new side keep 10 clean sheets.

Trippier has also proved effective going forward for Atletico, laying on four assists in his time with the Spanish side – including a crucial assist in the Champions League during a 2-2 draw with Juventus. He has a contract at Atleti until 2022.
Tottenham are expected to be after a right-back this summer with Serge Aurier still being criticised for his performances. Norwich City’s Max Aarons has been constantly linked with a move to Spurs, but Trippier could now be an option.
Darren Bent claimed in October on Sky Sports’ The Debate that Tottenham had sold Trippier too early: “I wonder now if Pochettino does think ‘well, maybe I let Kieran Trippier go too early’, because Serge Aurier is a bit of a liability.”
The report claims interested parties would have to spend £20million to sign Trippier, with former side Burnley desperate to bring him to Turf Moor. But some Spurs fans are desperate for their club to consider returning Trippier to north London.
