Jose Mourinho has revealed Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga is facing another spell on the sidelines.
Speaking ahead of Spurs’ huge game with Liverpool in the Premier League tomorrow, the Portuguese delivered the bombshell that the 21-year-old is likely done for 2020.
He said (quoted by football.london): “Against Antwerp on his shoulder, no need for surgery, we believe conservative treatment will get him fit.

“The medical department believes. But a couple of weeks, three weeks will keep him out.”
Tanganga sustained the issue in the first-half of the game against the Belgian side. He received treatment after his collision and was able to finish the game – and it appears there has been some lasting damage as some expected at the time.
That was only his third appearance of the season, and he is yet to feature in the Premier League having had trouble with his thigh.
It’s been a frustrating period for £25,000-a-week star Tanganga (Times), who really impressed for Spurs after being given his Premier League debut by The Special One last season against tomorrow’s opponents Liverpool.

The youngster caught the eye with his versatility and maturity, but seemingly just hasn’t had the rub of the green this season.
His wait for a Premier League appearance in 2020/21 will go, and as well as Liverpool tomorrow, it’s possible he could miss games against Leicester City, Stoke in the EFL Cup quarter-final, Wolves, Fulham and Leeds United.
On social media, the response from some fans to Tanganga’s latest setback was mixed between sympathetic and frustrated:
