Tottenham fans react as Jose Mourinho reportedly tells Serge Aurier something surprising

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly told Serge Aurier that he can become one of the world’s best defenders if he becomes more focused – and Spurs fans have reacted to the reported conversation on Twitter.

French outlet Foot Mercato have claimed that Mourinho and Aurier engaged in a conversation in the French language for quite some time. it has resulted in Mourinho informing Aurier that he can become one of the world’s best.

Mourinho believes that the 26-year-old is already one of the better right-sided defenders in the Premier League, but reckons with more application off the pitch and more focus on it – he has the ability to be considered at the highest level.

Aurier has been heavily criticised prior to Mourinho’s appointment. The former Paris Saint-Germain defender has been guilty of a needless red card against Southampton and a dismal performance against Bayern Munich aand Serge Gnabry.

But since Mourinho’s arrival, Aurier has started all five matches under Mourinho, playing every minute under the Portuguese boss. The defender is in prime form, arguably the best form he has been in at Spurs since his £23million move (BBC).
