Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the suggestion that Heung-min Son’s injury is not as bad as first feared.
The South Korean superstar was withdrawn by Jose Mourinho at half-time against Newcastle United, and it transpired afterwards that he has suffered a hamstring injury.
Fans have been worried as to the potential length of time Son may be out for, but it appears it won’t actually be very long until he’s back in the picture.
Providing an update on the star, Mourinho said (Sky Sports): “I expect to have him back after the international period and you give me the opportunity to speak about it.
“I hope the national team coaches they have their data and they realise how many minutes Tottenham players have played this week and I hope they care about the players and they protect them because Tottenham players this week they have an incredible amount of minutes and work and it’s very, very dangerous.”
The next international break takes place after the next round of Premier League fixtures, meaning there’s a good chance Son will play against West Ham United on October 17.
So he’ll only miss Thursday’s Europa League qualifier against Maccabi Haifa, which he probably wouldn’t have featured in anyway, and Manchester United away on October 4.
Son has made a fantastic start to the new season, hitting four goals against Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium in gameweek two.
He was unlucky not to add to that haul against Newcastle, whom he struck the woodwork twice against before going off injured.
The 28-year-old has shown once again how big he is for Spurs, and fans were delighted to learn his return is not actually that far off:

So we get Son and Bale back at the same time? Nice.

So he’s missing like two games. That’s not the worst.

Actually pretty good. Only misses 3 games. Including today. Get him back the same time as bale
