Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he won’t allow Harry Winks to leave on loan when the January transfer window – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded by claiming it’s the right decision to keep him.
The Daily Mirror reported last week that Premier League rivals Everton were potentially keen on trying to sign Winks on a loan deal next month.
Mourinho has since shut down any notion of the 24-year-old exiting the club on a temporary basis in January.
“In relation to Winks on loan in January, no way,” Mourinho said, as quoted by the Mirror.

A selection of Spurs fans on social media are convinced that they need the depth of their squad to be competitive this season and still feel like Winks has a role to play.
There is hope they can be genuine Premier League title contenders this season as they sit top after 12 games, plus they have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and the Round of 32 in the Europa League.
Midfield playmaker Winks has played 11 times across all competitions so far this season, but is certainly no longer a regular in the XI and he’s lost his position to summer signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The central midfielder was a nailed-on starter for large parts of last season under Mourinho, but Hojbjerg has overtaken him since he arrived from Southampton.
There is certainly plenty of competition in the centre of the park, but here are some Spurs fans insisting keeping Winks makes perfect sense:
