Tottenham fans react as Jerome Boateng is linked with summer transfer

Jerome Boateng is at the top of Tottenham’s wanted list this summer as they crave a new central defender, according to BILD. Following the news, supporters have been reacting on Twitter.

The 32-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and will leave after 10 years at the club. The Bayern enforcer is willing to take a pay-cut to leave Germany – although he craves a three-year deal.

In total, Boateng has played 361 times for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring 10 goals and registering 25 assists. Tottenham won’t be the only club interested, with MLS interest also mentioned in the latest reports from Germany.

His last contract with Bayern was worth a staggering £210,000-a-week. Although Boateng is prepared to take a lesser salary, he is keen to sign a longer contract in order to see his career out.

His advancing years might put some clubs off. Tottenham’s situation defensively is pretty desperate though and Boateng would still represent an improvement.

Boateng has played 37 games for Bayern this season, with the club on course to retain their Bundesliga crown for the ninth successive campaign.
