England lost the Ashes on home soil on Sunday but Tottenham did their best to cheer up batsman Jason Roy by sending him and his daughter Everly home shirts.
Roy, who had a fantastic World Cup earlier this summer but struggled to adjust to the demands of test cricket, took to Twitter to thank Spurs for the gesture.
He follows Ben Stokes in making public his support for Tottenham, with the all-rounder declaring his affinity for the north London club following his heroics in the third test at Headingley.
In truth, it seems as if the demands of the summer caught up with England, as they struggled to get anywhere close to their World Cup levels against Australia on a consistent basis.
Plenty of Tottenham fans were only too happy to welcome Roy into the Spurs family, cutting through the predictable jokes from rival fanbases.
Roy said he’d attend a Tottenham game soon enough, when Mauricio Pochettino will hope his side have recovered from the uncertainty of the transfer window on the continent remaining open while Spurs couldn’t sign a replacement for the likes of Christian Eriksen.
Both Roy and Spurs will hope to get through sticky periods and return to their absolute best sooner rather than later.

Are we signing all the cricketers?
If so can we get the mighty @JofraArcher on board?
