Tottenham Hotspur youngster Jack Roles is making quite the impression out on loan. In Saturday’s game, Roles scored and won the man of the match award as Cambridge United were held by Macclesfield Town.

Roles, who is on loan at Cambridge until January, opened the scoring yesterday. His audacious long-range effort fizzed along the floor and put the U’s 1-0 up against Macclesfield.

The 20-year-old continues to impress at Cambridge, operating in a central midfield role. Cambridge fans are loving his performances and he is giving Tottenham some food for thought ahead of the long-term future.

Roles has never played a first-team game for Spurs but was included in Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-season plans. Spurs decided to send him out on loan to gain experience and he is standing out at Cambridge.

Admittedly, there is a big jump from League Two to the Premier League. But some Tottenham fans have been discussing Roles’ performances on social media. After a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Brighton, there has been some talk of blooding in the youngsters instead.

Here are some tweets from Spurs fans talking about Roles’ latest masterclass.
