Tottenham youngster Jack Roles has joined Cambridge United in League Two on loan until January, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
The 20-year-old played a part in the pre-season tour but has now made a temporary move into the EFL in search of regular gametime.
Former Spurs player and U’s manager Colin Calderwood said: “This opportunity has arisen due to Tottenham’s ambition for Jack to gain further experience out on loan. Jack showed no hesitation in coming here either and in fact it was his eagerness to come to Cambridge United once we put an offer forward that has allowed the move to be pushed through so quickly.
“Jack Roles scores goals, is the feedback we receive from everybody when they speak about him so we’re delighted to have Jack here. We’re hopeful he can add further threat to our attacking options.”

Mauricio Pochettino has a deserved reputation for bringing through young talent and Tottenham fans want to see more and more of that.
But they seem to acknowledge that it’s a good time for Roles to go out and get more experience because the prospects of breaking into the first team at this moment in time are slim.
They perhaps want to see bigger announcements about new kits or new contracts but they were pleased to see a young player continue their development.
