Isak Solberg has confirmed on Instagram that he has penned professional terms with Tottenham Hotspur this week for the first time – and Spurs supporters have responded to the news on Twitter.
Solberg, 17, joined Tottenham last summer from Norwegian minnows Bryne – signing a contract that would last for three years as per Football London. The first two years of that contract were under youth terms.
The final season of that deal would see the Norway youth international turn professional but it appears Spurs have chosen to make the switch to professional terms a season early. That is because Solberg has posted on Instagram.
The 6ft 3in goalkeeper confirmed on his official Instagram page that he had penned his first ever professional terms with Tottenham – though it is unclear how long a contract he has signed with the north London club.
Solberg has plenty of work to do, if he is to break into the Under-23 side. Ahead of him remain Jonathan De Bie, Brandon Austin, Alfie Whiteman and Joshua Oluwayemi – while Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga are first choice.
Nevertheless, Tottenham fans were delighted to see the Norwegian giant sign professional terms with their club and many are hoping that he can become something special under Jose Mourinho.
