Tottenham fans react as Harry Winks eyes loan exit
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports that Harry Winks wants to leave on loan in the January transfer window.
What’s the story?
According to The Times, Winks is hoping to seal a temporary move away from Spurs in the winter.
It comes with the 25-year-old only appearing in two Premier League games this season – and one of those was a very, very brief cameo away at Wolves.
He is behind Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the pecking order at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. And with that, he is now looking at leaving on loan.
The report claims that Aston Villa, Everton and Brighton all wanted Winks in the summer. Meanwhile, it is noted that he is open to moving abroad.
And it seems that the large majority of Spurs fans on social media are very much on board with the idea of Winks leaving in January.
Plenty have suggested that he needs to move on. Unfortunately, the England international has never managed to kick on to the next level.
And while some of the criticism is certainly too harsh, a lot of Tottenham fans are surely right to question whether the time is right to sell.
As things stand, it is hard to see Winks breaking in ahead of Hojbjerg or Skipp anytime soon.
So a permanent exit could be best for all parties. Winks – who earns £50,000-a-week – can find a move to a club where he will play regularly. And Tottenham should expect a decent fee for a more peripheral member of their squad.
‘Best for all involved’: Tottenham fans react as Harry Winks eyes loan exit
A loan may perhaps be the first step towards a permanent move further down the line.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Tottenham fans make of the reports…
Yep. This would be best for all involved. Harry should be playing football somewhere for sure.

If he can join a team where he could start regulary, that would improve our chances of selling. Or at least he would remember the joy of playing football and seek regular game. Also, he isn’t as bad as fans feel.

Should have gone to Everton in the summer. Winks and Dele need a fresh start at a new club. https://t.co/TKHfz2YX3g
