Tottenham fans react as Gedson Fernandes reportedly set to leave for Torino

Gedson Fernandes is reportedly closing on a move to Serie A side Torino which would see his Tottenham Hotspur loan end six months ahead of schedule – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to the news he is about to depart.

Gedson, 22, has struggled since joining the club on an 18-month loan-to-buy deal from Benfica. In 12 months at the club, he has managed just 14 appearances in all competitions, only half of which has come in the Premier League.

His last game came in the form of a 5-0 win over non-league side Marine – and it is likely to be his final outing for the North London club. TuttoMercatoWeb state that Gedson could leave Spurs in the ‘next few hours’.

It is believed that the Portugal international’s loan deal at Spurs will be cancelled six months before it is due to do so. He will return to Benfica, and then a loan move to Serie A side Torino – Joe Hart’s former loan side – will be engineered for Gedson.

Tottenham supporters reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Gedson is seemingly on his way out of Jose Mourinho’s side, and many think his exit at Spurs is a move that would be good for all parties involved. Many are wishing him well.
