Tottenham fans react as Gareth Bale is unused substitute against Chelsea

Gareth Bale was left on the bench last night as Tottenham lost 1-0 to Chelsea and suffering a third defeat in succession in the Premier League.

After the game their fans were disgruntled with Jose Mourinho’s decision, taking to Twitter to vent their frustration.

Prior to Christmas, Tottenham were rampant and many people fancied them to win the Premier League.

They were free-scoring, solid at the back and Mourinho looked to have adapted to modern-day football.

Their form of 2020 now seems like a far-cry though and last night Spurs were lethargic, void of ideas and disinterested.

Thomas Tuchel outfoxed Mourinho and from the moment Jorginho scored from the penalty spot, the Blues never looked like losing.

The Bale situation is proving bizarre and last night seemed like the perfect time to throw him on.

Tottenham were in desperate need of some inspiration but it was Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura who were called upon.

Mourinho has to find a way to solve the Bale conundrum and leaving him on the bench isn’t doing anyone any good.

With little to shout about on the pitch, all the take afterwards was about the 82-cap wizard being left on the bench.
