Tottenham fans react as Fiorentina confirm extension for Milenkovic

Tottenham’s pursuit of Nikola Milenkovic has come to an end for the time being after Fiorentina confirmed that he had extended his contract. Milenkovic was reportedly a target for Spurs, but he has decided to stay put. Tottenham fans reacted to the official announcement regarding Milenkovic.

Milenkovic, 23, has been excellent for La Viola since joining the club as a teenager from Partizan Belgrade. In the four years he has spent at Fiorentina, he has clocked up 133 senior appearances for the Serie A side. But he had entered the final 12 months of his contract.

What are Tottenham fans saying, as Milenkovic agrees Fiorentina extension?

A report from Italian website Firenze Viola claimed this week that Tottenham had made a double offer for Milenkovic and Dusan Vlahovic worth £59.5million. That is, despite Fiorentina requesting around £72.5million for both players. It seems an agreement has failed to arrive.

That is because Fiorentina have managed to extend the Serbia international’s contract by a further year – pretty much ruling out his exit this summer (above). Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the club failing to get Milenkovic, and many are frustrated.

One fan even took to Twitter to declare he is “mad”, while another hopes Fabio Paratici has better options on the list.
