Tottenham are in the mix with Arsenal and Everton to complete the summer signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

According to Bild, via The Sun, the Premier League trio are all preparing to pounce on a cut-price deal, with Tottenham looking like an attractive proposition given their European status.

Monchengladbach are prepared to sell their midfielder for a fee in the region of £17 million.

The Switzerland performer has played 128 times for his current club since arriving in 2017 from Young Boys.

Now, he looks like seeking a move away from the club, with Premier League clubs preparing offers.

Tottenham’s need is perhaps more urgent than that of the other two clubs. Harry Winks could be on his way out, whilst doubts remain over the future of Tanguy Ndombele.

They do have Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in their ranks though and he is a similar player to Zakaria.

Tottenham fans would welcome Zakaria

Right now, Zakaria earns just £55,000-a-week and that would be well within Tottenham’s salary structure.

He could prove to be a relatively cheap addition to Nuno Espirito Santo’s ranks and it’s a deal that perhaps Tottenham should look to do.

Zakaria fits the profile of a Spurs player quite nicely. He is young and Daniel Levy would surely welcome the fact that he has plenty of sell-on value.

Following yesterday’s bulletin, Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the potential for Zakaria to sign for the club and here is what they’ve had to say.
