Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has been touted with a potential move to Rangers and Steven Gerrard by TalkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy – and Spurs supporters have responded on Twitter, rubbishing a potential move.
Alli, 24, is on the fringes at Tottenham and has only made the matchday Premier League squad three times out of a possible 12. Instead, the 37-time England international has been forced to watch from the sidelines and play in the Europa League.
Clearly, Alli is at a crossroads in his career. He needs game time and a loan move in January is growing increasingly likely – with website 90Min suggesting Premier League clubs and European sides interested. Daniel Levy is willing to sanction a loan.
Murphy, who briefly played for Tottenham during his career, thinks Steven Gerrard could consider luring him to Ibrox in the January window on loan. However, he questioned whether Alli would be open to a move to Rangers.

“I’m not sure Dele would be up for it, but I thought maybe Stevie G at Rangers could persuade him to go there and win him the title,” Murphy told TalkSPORT. “He’d play every week, score a lot of goals, get his confidence up and impress Gareth Southgate.”
Certainly, a move to Rangers would see Alli play in the Europa League knockout stages for Gerrard – and have a chance of beating Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title. The League Cup and Scottish Cup are also on the table for Rangers.
But Spurs fans have responded to their former midfielder Murphy’s comments on Twitter, rubbishing any chance of Alli moving north of the border to Ibrox. Many feel his situation has not got bad enough to consider Scottish football.
