Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the news that Dele Alli has not travelled with the squad to face Lokomotiv Plovdiv (Daily Mail).
The English midfielder will not face the Bulgarian minnows in Spurs’ qualifying match, which kicks off at 5pm UK time today.
Alli’s expulsion comes after he was substituted off at half-time against Everton on Sunday in the club’s Premier League opener.
The 24-year-old was ineffective for the hosts against the Toffees, and was replaced by Moussa Sissoko, with Lucas Moura moving central.
In the days after the game, speculation has been rife about Alli’s future at Spurs.
Rumours have been gathering pace about Gareth Bale returning to the club on loan, and the Telegraph had reported Alli could go the other way.
Bale re-signing for Tottenham would definitely make life more difficult for Alli, who is desperate to return to his best level having struggled in recent times.
Spurs fans reacted to news of Alli not being included to face Plovdiv, with some expressing their concern about the development, and others sure it is just a case of the manager resting Alli ahead of the Southampton game:
