Tottenham fans react as club will reportedly sell Eric Dier unless he signs new contract
Tottenham are reportedly considering offloading midfielder Eric Dier in the summer – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have claimed they want him sold.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are going to try sell the 26-year-old at the end of the season unless he signs a new contract as chairman Daniel Levy prepares to wield the axe.
It is explained Levy doesn’t want to allow players to enter the final year of their contract and the England international currently has a deal that expires in 18 months time.
The report explains that Dier is refusing to sign a new deal at the moment until he’s given first-team assurances, as his minutes have been massively reduced recently under manager Jose Mourinho.
Dier has struggled for form in the centre of the park and the report adds that he wants to be used as a centre-back.
He’s made 20 appearances across all competitions this campaign, but hasn’t started in the league since December and appears to have slipped down the pecking order under manager Jose Mourinho for the meantime.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media they want to get rid of Dier and have supported the idea of selling him.
The English enforcer isn’t the same player that impressed in the midfield several years ago for the club, as he now looks a lot less mobile in possession and can’t get a run of consistent starts.
Here are some Spurs fans on the Dier speculation:

Let’s hope he doesn’t sign then ! Not good enough since his injury, slow & reactive is not a good combination in a defensive midfielder
