Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks with Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte over a potential move to lure the Italian back to the English capital this summer – and Spurs fans have responded on Twitter, urging Daniel Levy to get him.
Conte, 51, has just guided Inter Milan to their first Serie A title since 2009-10. It ends a run of nine consecutive leagues won by Juventus – with AC Milan holding aloft the 2010-11 title. The Italian has done an incredible job at Inter since taking over.
Little surprise, then, that there is already interest in his services. Corriere Dello Sport claim Tottenham have opened dialogue between themselves and the ex-Chelsea manager ahead of the summer – and Conte ‘kept the door open’ on a potential move.
It is believed a meeting was held, tactics and summer plans discussed as if he were the Spurs gaffer. But it is believed that Conte remains loyal to Inter, where he has just 12 months left on a deal worth a whopping £215,000 a week according to CDS.
Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that Conte could replace Mourinho in the Spurs hotseat and understandably, many are desperate to see him return to London. However, such a move is unlikely just days after the Serie A title win.
