Tottenham fans react as club reportedly in talks to sign 2018 World Cup finalist

Tottenham are reportedly talking to Ivan Perisic ahead of potentially signing the Inter Milan star on a free – and Spurs fans have responded.

Perisic, 32, is out of contract at Inter Milan at the end of the season. He remains an important part of the Nerrazzuri, but could end up leaving.

Sempre Inter reported in the last few days that Perisic will have to half his current wages to stay. He is currently earning £82,000 a week.

Perisic is likely to prefer to find a club where he does not have to receive such a hefty hit to his wages. Tottenham could be about to offer him that.

Sport1 say Tottenham are in talks with the 111-time Croatia international. The player is likely to be keen, given Antonio Conte is in charge.

Conte praised Perisic in 2020: “When you’ve got this determination, this enthusiasm, this desire, in the end everything gets easier for the coach.”

Tottenham have numerous options out wide. Lucas Moura is the current first-choice right winger, with Son Heung-min on the left flank.

Perisic is preferred on the left and if he was to join Tottenham, the chances are that he would provide cover for Son. He is better than Steven Bergwijn.

Bryan Gil is another option, but he could move into the middle of the park eventually. So, Perisic is a decent signing, but only to help rest Son.
