Tottenham fans react as club reportedly have first option on Gareth Bale

Tottenham fans have taken to social media following recent reports that the club have the first option to sign Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window from Real Madrid.

Eurosport report that the Wales international could join Spurs permanently in the upcoming transfer window and could pull off a deal to sign the former Southampton attacker on the same terms Bale is currently on at Tottenham, with football.london reporting that the north London club is currently paying 40% of the 31-year-old attacker’s mammoth £600,000-a-week contract this season.

Bale’s comeback to the Premier League was one of the biggest transfers of the 2020 summer market, yet injuries have kept the Cardiff-born attacker away from first-team football for the majority of the season, with the attacker starting just six league games for Spurs since returning to the north London club.
