Tottenham fans react as club reportedly eye Spaniard

Tottenham are reportedly considering a move for Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata if Harry Kane goes – and Spurs fans have discussed a move.

Morata, 28, was heavily criticised in the summer for his performance in a Spain shirt. But he remains one of Europe’s best strikers, on his day.

However, consistency has been an issue for Morata. During his time in English football with Chelsea – he managed just 16 goals in 47 games.

Currently, Morata is in the second season of a two-year loan spell back at former club Juventus from Atletico Madrid. There is a permanent clause.

That deal, according to CalcioMercato, is worth £29.75million. But the report states that Juventus are unwilling to make the deal permanent.

That has swung Fabio Paratici into action. The report claims the Spurs sporting director has made Morata first choice, if Kane goes.

What do Tottenham fans think of Morata, especially at cheap price?

While many will remember his dodgy finishing and low-confidence displays in the summer – it must be said that he is still a very good striker.

Given the confidence as a starting striker, he scores goals. He has done wherever he has gone. 50 in 144 at Juve, 22 in 61 at Atletico Madrid.

Morata is not Kane’s level – but he is not a million miles away and for £30million, that is brilliant business. Spurs fans will have to agree.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter to discuss the potential reports of Morata arriving at Tottenham – and some do think he would be a good addition.
