Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set aside £17.5million to sign Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi this summer with doubts arising over Harry Kane’s future – and Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news.
Turkish outlet Takvim has claimed that Tottenham are ready to reignite their January interest in 25-year-old powerhouse Muriqi. The Kosovo international, who scored against England in Euro 2020 qualification, has been in top form for Fener.
Indeed, Muriqi has scored 15 goals in all competitions for his current side – laying on another six assists. Spurs and Burnley are said to have made bids in January, but they were both blocked with Fener keen to keep him at least until the summer.

Spurs have struggled of late with Son Heung-min and Kane both injured. Indeed, Jose Mourinho’s side have been knocked out of The FA Cup and the Champions League early – highlighting the club’s need for a striker with Kane sidelined.
Muriqi is renowned for his ability to lead the line, using his strength and link-up play to bring others into the final third. At such a bargain price of £17.5million, he would be an excellent signing given that he could play back-up to Kane.
Many Tottenham fans have responded on Twitter to the news that the club are reportedly after Muriqi ahead of the summer window, and supporters think he would be a good signing – while some believe they should have signed Muriqi in January.
