Tottenham are reportedly keen to sign Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan this summer as Jose Mourinho plans a summer revamp of his stuttering Spurs squad – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.
Maignan, 24, has been in excellent form for Lille over the past couple of seasons – helping his side qualify for the Champions League last term and then conceding just 27 goals in 28 appearances, in which he kept 12 clean sheets.
Given his age and form, Maignan’s reputation has blossomed – especially after his impressive displays in this season’s Champions League. Now, the goalkeeper is set for an interesting summer.
That is because French outlet Le 10 Sport have followed on from Eurosport journalist Manu Lonjon’s claim last week that Spurs have opened talks to sign Maignan. Indeed, the new report claims Mourinho is desperate to sign Maignan.
The report states that if Spurs sign Maignan in the coming months, then Mourinho will look to offload 33-year-old captain Lloris. With both goalkeepers good enough to be considered number ones, Mourinho is against keeping both.
Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Mourinho may bring in uncapped French goalkeeper Maignan, and sell Lloris – and many supporters want such a deal to happen.
