Tottenham fans react as club reportedly battling West Ham for African attacker

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling London rivals West Ham United and Arsenal for the signature of Lyon speedster Bertrand Traore – and Spurs fans have reacted to the news on Twitter.

TeamTalk have claimed that Tottenham and Arsenal are considering a move for the 23-year-old attacker, who came through the ranks at Chelsea and is able to play both up front and out wide.

However, West Ham are also said to be interested in the Burkina Faso international, but it is believed that the Hammers have already splashed their transfer budget this summer – and can only afford a loan-to-buy deal.

Traore, last season, found the back of the net 11 times for Lyon last season from out wide – as well as laying on five assists. Since joining Lyon, he has found the back of the net 29 times in 91 appearances.

The former Chelsea man did manage to break into the senior side at Stamford Bridge but only on 16 occasions, scoring four goals. He has also enjoyed spells at Ajax and Vitesse Arnhem.

Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Spurs were one of the interested parties in Traore, and many believe that Traore would be a poor signing. A handful, though, reckon he is a “baller”.
