Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling Leicester City in the race to land soon-to-be out-of-contract Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi according to Italian media – and Spurs fans have responded on Twitter to the news.
Inzaghi, 45, is impressing as Lazio boss. He took the Serie A side into the knockout rounds of the Champions League this season, in what is his sixth season at the helm. He has also won three trophies, and steered Lazio into sixth.
But the former Italy international is out of contract in the summer – and Lazio president Claudio Lotito is struggling to meet his demands. That is according to newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, who detail Inzaghi’s big wage demands.

It is claimed that Inzaghi wants a three-year deal between £125,000 and £180,000 a week, including bonuses. Lazio, understandably, are struggling to offer Inzaghi that kind of pay packet – and that has alerted Premier League sides.
Tottenham are still on the lookout for a new gaffer after sacking Jose Mourinho, with Ryan Mason in interim charge until the summer. Brendan Rodgers is linked, and that could be the reason behind Leicester’s interest in Inzaghi.
Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that they are battling Leicester for the impressive, attacking manager – and many believe he would be a good appointment at the north London club this summer.
