Tottenham fans react as club linked with Real Madrid sensation

Tottenham Hotspur have been reportedly told that they must meet Marco Asensio’s enormous £620million release clause if they want to lure the Real Madrid playmaker to north London – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.

Spanish newspaper AS have reported that Tottenham are interested in the 23-year-old once again, with Mauricio Pochettino said to be ‘in love’ with the 22-time Spain international.

It is not the first time Asensio has been linked with a move to Spurs, but Real Madrid have made themselves utterly clear that they do not want to sell the Spaniard this summer.

That is because the Spanish giants have told Tottenham that if they want to sign Asensio, they must match his release clause which is worth an astronomical £620million.

Not only that, but Asensio is unwilling to leave Real. The report claims that Asensio will only be willing to leave the Santiago Bernabeu if Real wanted to sell him. At the moment, Zinedine Zidane wants to keep him.

Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to the news that their club is interested in Asensio, and many are astounded by Real Madrid’s demands. One fan even joked that Spurs should sell their new stadium to sign the playmaker.
