Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to fend off Premier League rivals Manchester United and sign Parma teenager Dejan Kulusevski for £38.5million – and the news has prompted a mixed reaction from Spurs fans on Twitter.
Still only 19 years of age, Kulusevski is enjoying a breakthrough season that has seen his name crop up in many transfer reports ahead of the January window. On loan from Atalanta, the young winger is on fire.
He has scored three goals and created five more in 14 games, and that has seen TuttoSport claim that Tottenham, Manchester United, Juventus and Inter Milan are all keen on the teenager. It is believed Atalanta want £38.5million for his signature.
Tottenham do have plenty of options out wide. Indeed, the summer signings of Ryan Sessegnon, Jack Clarke and Giovani Lo Celso have added to a long list of options that can play out wide.
Son Heung-min tops the bill, while Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli can all do a job in those wide positions. It would be difficult to see where one-time Sweden international Kulusevski would fit in.
Tottenham Hotspur fans reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Kulusevski could be Jose Mourinho’s first signing, if Spurs can beat the Portuguese gaffer’s former side. But it drew a very mixed response on Twitter.
