Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Napoli superstar Kalidou Koulibaly in what could be a stunning £100million transfer but face competition from Chelsea – and Spurs fans are desperate for a deal to be completed.
Koulibaly, 28, has continued to prove this season that he is one of the best central defenders in European football. Even against Champions League winners Liverpool, Koulibaly shone to prevent Liverpool from scoring more than one goal in two games.
Since joining Napoli in 2014, he has clocked up a huge 232 appearances for Napoli and is currently in the form of his career. The Senegal international has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League, and now Spurs are said to be keen.
Italian outlet Corriere del Mezzogiorno – as cited by the Daily Star – have claimed that both Tottenham and Chelsea are in contact with the 33-time Senegal international’s agent over a possible £100million move to London this month.
Spurs are likely to be after a new centre-back this month, despite finally getting Toby Alderweireld to extend his Spurs deal. Jan Vertonghen, though, remains out of contract while Juan Foyth continues to be playing well below par at Spurs.
The north Londoners need a new centre-back this month and it seems as though Koulibaly could be the man they turn to – something which would seemingly delight Spurs fans, who are desperate for their club to land the African star.
This would be an unreal start to our rebuilding. That’s why I dint see it even being close to happening

Fingers crossed but this is a long shot. Koulibaly can go to any top club in Europe if he wants to.
Jose might be able to persuade Kalidou to join Spurs. But this is a very long shot. Much longer than Dybala but we shall see what happens.
