Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Everton midfielder Andre Gomes when his loan from Barcelona expires at the end of the season – and Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter.
The Sun claim the 25-year-old is a target for both Everton and Spurs in the summer. The Toffees’ loan deal with Barcelona does not include a permanent clause, meaning he is up for grabs.
This season, the Euro 2016 winner has shown in glimpses what he is capable of. Following a slot start at Goodison Park due to a hamstring injury, Gomes has played 25 times in all competitions.
Tottenham are likely to be after a new central midfielder this summer after Mousa Dembele left to join the Chinese Super League. Victor Wanyama’s future is in the air after another difficult season.
It appears that Gomes has been targeted by Spurs, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side finally expected to strengthen after two windows without bringing any new players in. Lucas Moura was the last player to join in January 2018.
Tottenham fans reacted to the news that they could be after a player that is available for just £22million (Mundo Deportivo). It was a largely mixed response, though some are keen to see the Portuguese move to north London.
Underrated, am I the only one who would happily take this guy

He's looked good at times. Has a feisty side as well. Prefer Tielemans. Kovacic may be available with Madrid and Chelsea and their contrasting summer transfer situations. But he never seems to play 90 minutes. Big fan of Kessie, Van De Beek, and Sander Berge. #Spinthewheel.

He’s alright. Nothing more than that. Not sure if he would really improve us.

Not done much wrong at Everton to show he wouldn’t be good enough.
Been impressed each time I’ve seen him play
