Tottenham fans react as club linked with Barcelona defender

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo who is said to be available for just £30million – and Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter.

The Mirror claim Tottenham are interested in signing a right-back this summer. Kieran Trippier is being linked with a move to Atletico Madrid and Napoli, while Serge Aurier could also leave Spurs.

The eight-time Portugal international has made a huge 45 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona this season, but he has only completed 90 minutes on 24 separate occasions.

Indeed, Sergi Roberto has been preferred on the right side of defence this season. Meanwhile, England defender Trippier has struggled in a Tottenham shirt this season – since returning from the 2018 World Cup.

A lack of impact going forward compared to recent seasons and a number of high-profile errors – most notably against Chelsea in a 2-0 defeat in the Premier League back in February.

Known for his pace on the right flank, Semedo has shown he is more than capable of getting forward this season – scoring one goal and creating three more in assists. He also helped Barca keep 22 clean sheets.

Tottenham will have to spend £30million to land Semedo, who has a contract at Barcelona until the summer of 2022. Spurs fans believe that Semedo would be an excellent signing for the north London club.
