Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Gio Lo Celso has returned to training after overcoming a thigh injury that saw the Argentine miss the FA Cup replay against Southampton – and Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter.
Spurs travel to the Midlands on Sunday to take on Aston Villa in a match they will be expected to win, after going unbeaten in their last three games – winning three of those including a 2-0 win over Man City, and conceding just five goals in that time.
Lo Celso, 23, has been a pivotal part of that turnaround in form. Starting in midfield alongside Harry Winks, the former Paris Saint-Germain starred and it convinced chairman Daniel Levy to strike a permanent move for the midfielder in January.
A thigh strain kept Lo Celso out of the 3-2 win over Southampton last time out – but the winter break has seen Lo Celso recover from the muscle injury without missing any matches. Whether he is fit enough to start on Sunday, though, remains to be seen.

Lo Celso has now clocked up 21 appearances in all competitions and is now considered one of the more important members of the side, after Mauricio Pochettino struggled to find his best position when he initially joined the club.
Many Tottenham fans reacted to the news that he had returned to training and is therefore in contention to start against Dean Smith’s struggling Villa on Sunday at Villa Park – and the majority are delighted.
This is brilliant news, turning into a player we massively rely on
