Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social media to react to the news that Manchester City will be their quarter-final opponents in the Champions League (via UEFA).
Spurs were the first English side to book their place in the draw after beating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 over two legs at the last 16 stage.
City became the third English side to make the quarter-final draw, after demolishing FC Schalke 10-2 over two legs.
Whoever wins will face either Ajax or Juventus in the semi-final.
Spurs will host City at their new stadium on 9/10 April, providing everything runs smoothly with the two test events that are to be held there this month (an U18s match and a legends match). The return leg at the Etihad Stadium will take place across 16/17.
It is the first time Tottenham and City have met in Europe, but earlier in the season Tottenham their first league encounter at Wembley 0-1 thanks to a Riyad Mahrez goal (BBC Sport).
The teams are set to meet in the league next on April 20 at the Etihad Stadium.
It would appear that Tottenham are going to have to do it the hard way if they are to win this year’s Champions League title, with City undoubtedly one of the strongest sides remaining in the competition.
On the whole, fans took to social media to voice their disappointment with the draw:

I get why we should be anxious about City, but they’re more of an issue in the PL than on the European stage.
If we want to continue to grow and advance as a club, we need to beat whomever we get drawn with. #COYS and here goes nothing.
